Treatment of non-chronic urethritis
Non-gonorrheal urethritis is an inflammation of the urethra. An infected patient faces certain difficulties that signal the need to undergo an examination by a specialist.
Infection with non-gonorrheal urethritis is possible only if certain types of fungi, viruses and microbes enter the body: mtreptococci, staphylococci, pneumococci, Escherichia coli, gram-positive diplococci, etc.
Symptoms of the disease may include:
- frequent trips to the toilet, in which a small amount of urine is released;
- pain and burning sensation during urination;
- the presence of cloudy-white discharge from the penis in men;
- acute urethritis is also accompanied by purulent secretions on the genitals.
The inflammatory process in the urethra may disappear without a trace after some time. At the same time, you should not expect that the disease has cured itself – urethritis is not characterized by the ability to self-heal. The most likely is the onset of the incubation period, which is usually 4-28 days. At the end of this period, the disease will necessarily reappear.
Unlike men, female urethritis is not so pronounced. The only possible signs are:
- unpleasant sensations in the lower abdomen during sexual intercourse;
- mucous or purulent discharge from the vagina;
- increased urge to urinate.
Non-gonorrheal urethritis is diagnosed if it is possible to completely exclude the possibility that the pathogens are trichomonads or gonococci. To determine the pathogen, a special examination is performed.
Non-gonorrheal urethritis does not pose any danger to the patient in case of timely detection and competent treatment.
